Rally sparks probe
Indonesia's parliament yesterday agreed to investigate the government's bailout last year of a small lender, Bank Century, as more than a thousand people rallied outside calling for two key ministers to resign.
Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati and Vice President Boediono, two of the leading reformers in President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono's cabinet, both backed the bank bailout in order to maintain investor confidence during last year's global credit crisis.
