Argentine steaks return

Argentinean beef will be served on Beijing dinner plates this weekend for the first time since it was banned in 2005. Steak is on the menu at two special dining events held by the Embassy of Argentina at Obelisco, the only Argentinean restaurant in Beijing, on Friday and Saturday.

It is in celebration of "Argentinean weekend", designed to promote the country.

The Chinese government has given special permission for the meat to be imported for the dining event, according to Omar Odarda, the agricultural attache of the Embassy of Argentina in Beijing.
