Help for violence victims

The city's women's federation and civil affairs bureau has jointly founded an aid center to accommodate women, children and elderly people who are victims of domestic violence. The victims can hand in written applications to their local neighborhood committees and stay at the center for seven days. In case of an emergency, the victims can go to the center directly. In 2008, the women's federation received 1,418 complaints of domestic violence.
