Company demands Olympian return car

By Zhang Yan | China Daily | Updated: 2009-11-24 08:06

Olympic gold medalist Lou Yun has been accused of illegal possession of a BMW and other goods, Chaoyang district court said yesterday.

The 45-year-old gymnastics medalist at the 1984 and 1988 Olympic games signed a contract with Shanghai Yuanjie Network Company on July 8, 2006 to serve as the director of its Beijing branch company. In December 2007, due to heavy operating losses of the Beijing branch, Shanghai Yuanjie Network attempted to sever the contract. It asked Lou to return company properties that included a BMW 5 series car, photography equipment and six computers.

"It is illegal for Lou to keep company property. Lou should return them to the company immediately," He Shuli, a lawyer for Shanghai Yuanjie Network, told METRO yesterday.
