Musical Macao

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of Macao's return to China, the Macao Youth Dance Company, Macao Symphony Orchestra and Macao Chinese Orchestra bring the "Charming Macao Festival" to the capital this week.

Tonight and tomorrow evening, under the baton of its musical director Peng Jiapeng (pictured), the Macao Chinese Orchestra will perform two concerts featuring programs by Chinese and Macao's local composers.

Founded in 1987 and composed of local musicians and performers of Chinese traditional instruments from the Chinese mainland, the Macao Chinese Orchestra gives regular concerts in Macao, in addition to touring abroad every year.
