Top researcher living on the streets

A former postdoctoral researcher forced to live and work on the streets after suffering a mental illness has had a helping hand from a top scientist.

Sun Aiwu, the 38-year-old former research fellow and contributor to Science magazine, met Li Xiaowen from the Chinese Academy of Sciences on Wednesday.

Li wrote on his blog that he would help Sun rent a house and settle down.
