Storms prompt warnings

Flood warnings were issued across Scotland, northern England and Wales yesterday as forecasters predicted further heavy downpours in the next few days. The Environment Agency put out warnings for 32 locations across Britain, mostly in northwest England, while the Scottish Environment Protection Agency issued 11.

There are also severe flood warnings for the River Teviot and for Ettrick Water near Hawick in southern Scotland.
