Snowy dreams
Calling itself "the warmest ski resort in China", Chengdu's Xiling Snow Mountain has announced a reward of 100,000 yuan ($14,700) for the logo and publicity slogan that will best sell it as a new international holiday destination. To date, more than 5,000 people from home and abroad have submitted their works. The resort will also organize an exhibition of rare plants and flowers, besides high mountain rescue skills training for the French military police, and the South China Ice and Snow Festival.
It claims it has world-class skiing equipment and snow systems, new relay rails, as well as a 4-star hotel, and spa. A suspended cable car rises to a height of 2,500 m, and the resort boasts a grass cover of 500,000 sq m.
