Three top-ranked pairs boost China's chances of breakthrough

Boasting three of the world's top figure skating pairs, China is poised to finally claim that elusive Olympic gold medal.

In this Olympic season, the Chinese pairs have gotten off to flying starts. After five stops of the ISU Grand Prix, the veteran pairs of Shen Xue/Zhao Hongbo and Pang Qing/Tong Jian have already qualified for the Grand Prix Final.

Three-time world champions Shen/Zhao, who won their second consecutive Grand Prix event in the US on Saturday, are preparing for their fourth Winter Olympics.
