Bars closed in crackdown
Shanghai police have closed more than 380 entertainment venues, including several karaoke bars, and exposed around 4,000 crimes since launching a campaign at the beginning of the year, officers said yesterday.
The drive, which targets crimes including prostitution and drug-taking, aims to improve security ahead of next year's Shanghai Expo.
