Forever Monroe

Twelve limited-edition prints of American sex symbol Marilyn Monroe by star photographer Lawrence Schiller, are on display at the art space of Beijing's Lan Club.

Photos of Monroe are always special and even 47 years after her death the images of the iconic movie star have not lost anything of their mystical appeal. Although the film diva died suddenly at the age of 36, she remains an abiding fascination, not only through her Hollywood legacy but also through her touching portraits by Schiller.

He took the photo series Marilyn 12 only two months before the actress died in August 1962 on the sets of her unfinished movie Something's Got to Give. The photographs include images from her last birthday, celebrated on location.
