Model held over 4m yuan payment

Liu Yuqi, known as "the most beautiful Chinese woman on the web" was detained at Beijing Capital International Airport, after she failed to repay a 4 million debt.

Liu, a 22-year-old from Xuzhou, Jiangsu province, was held for two hours after being denied entry onto a fight to Japan on Nov 9.

Border police were told that the model, who has released several singles and starred in films, could not leave China because she owed 4 million yuan to her former agency, Beijing-based In Media Entertainment Company.
