Drought still a problem

The water level of the Three Gorges Reservoir will more than likely not reach its final target of 175 m this year as drought lingers in the lower and middle reaches of the Yangtze River and the dry season of the river is approaching, local water conservation experts said yesterday.

The reservoir is a major part of the mammoth Three Gorges Project that is located at the middle reach of the Yangtze River, China's longest.
