Weekly in danger as Beijing media merges

Beijing's weekly paper, The First, may sack some staff following integration with a daily newspaper, a reporter said yesterday.

The First was confirmed in October to have been holding integration talks with The Beijing Morning Post (BMP) to save the failing newspaper, the reporter from BMP told METRO yesterday

The BMP said the two papers would share human resources and offices to combat rising costs, but there would be more layoffs.
