Leaders mark WWI's end

The leaders of France and Germany yesterday appeared together at a ceremony to commemorate the end of World War I for the first time since the conflict ended in 1918.

French President Nicolas Sarkozy met German Chancellor Angela Merkel under the Arc de Triomphe to together commemorate the 91st anniversary of the end of the 1914-1918 war that tore Europe apart.
