Strong growth for city
Beijing was ranked 38th in terms of GDP growth among world cities, according to a study released by Pricewaterhouse Coopers on Sunday. The study also found that cities in emerging countries have stronger growth momentum than cities in developed countries. Hong Kong, Shanghai and Beijing were among the top 50. It is estimated that cities such as Beijing and Shanghai will keep the growth rate of six to seven percent a year. In 2050, Beijing will jump from the 38th to 17th and Shanghai will leap to the 9th, the Beijing Times reported yesterday.
