China experts ready to tear down another 'Wall'

China experts said yesterday that an intangible 'Berlin Wall', typified by Western countries' misunderstanding and hostility towards China, should also be torn down for the sake of world development.

"The Cold War mentality has never ceased ever though the collapse of the Berlin Wall 20 years ago had been upheld as an end of the Cold War era," said Feng Zhongping, chief of European studies at the China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations.

An intangible Berlin Wall now exists everywhere, with hostility between Western and some former socialist countries lingering in world affairs, Feng said.
