Four prime suspects in phone fraud case held

Police in Guangzhou, Guangdong province, recently detained four men suspected of duping a resident of a staggering 1 million yuan ($146,477) via a common phone fraud in May.

The conmen phoned the woman, surnamed Qin, and convinced her to transfer her life savings into their account, saying her ID card had been duplicated and her bank account could be drained anytime.
