Syringe attack rumors

Twelve people who spread rumors about false "syringe attacks" in Chongqing were detained last month for "causing malicious social panic", local official news website cqnews.net quoted a police source.

At least 47 such "attacks" had been reported to police stations last month, according to the municipality's Tongliang county government website. All the reports were not substantiated because "no sign of needle penetration was shown", the website said.
