TV man pays 20,000 yuan

Zhang Tengyue, a CCTV anchorman who fled the scene after causing a traffic accident with a man surnamed Lu, was ordered by Daxing traffic police department to pay 20,000 yuan in compensation for car repairs yesterday, the Beijing News reported yesterday. On Monday, Zhang hit Lu's car and then left the scene. Zhang said he had gone to hospital with stomach pains.

The police said they are investigating if Zhang had been driving while under the influence of alcohol after Lu claimed he smelled alcohol on Zhang.
