3 held for Iran attack
Pakistani security forces yesterday arrested three Iranians suspected of planning a suicide attack in Iran's southeastern region last month, which killed 42 people including senior Revolutionary Guards generals, officials said.
Mainly Shiite Iran says the Sunni rebel group Jundollah (God's Soldiers), which has claimed responsibility for the Oct 18 attack, operates from across the border in Pakistan. The ethnic Baluch men were arrested by the paramilitary Frontier Constabulary troops in a raid yesterday in Turbat, a district in Pakistan's southwestern Baluchistan province on the Iranian border, intelligence and paramilitary officials said.
