Forever young designer

It's never too late to say never.

Perhaps it is this analogy that has pushed 71-year-old He Jingtang to create some of his best works in recent years. His latest design, the China Pavilion, will thus stand as a red oriental crown towering over the other structures at next year's Shanghai Expo.

A native of Dongguan in Guangdong province, he has marked a new career milestone at a time when most are settling into retirement. His most famed works have been completed recently, in fact, including the design of the 2008 Beijing Olympics wrestling and badminton venues.
