H1N1 death toll rises

A middle school student in Chengde, North China's Hebei province, has died of H1N1 influenza, the provincial health bureau announced yesterday, after at least nine Chinese nationals had fallen victims to the virus on the mainland.

On Tuesday, a teenager in Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region also died of the flu. The 14-year-old school student surnamed Guo, was from Fuyun county in Altay prefecture.
