American sues golf club
An American employee at a golf club is suing his employer for overtime salary of about $50,000. The American who was only identified as Charles by the court claimed he signed a contract with the Yanqihu Golf Club in March 2008 to renovate the golf course. He said he had worked for nine hours a day without weekends and holidays, so he asked for almost $50,000 in overtime pay. The company said Charles did not have a work permit, so the two sides did not have a legal agreement. The Huairou district court said the hearing will begin on Nov 10.
