DDA celebrates a century of development in just 25 years
On October 15, the Dalian Development Area (DDA) celebrated its 25th anniversary. On the same day as its commemorative ceremony, the Dalian Changjiangwan International Sports Center held its foundation stone laying event.
The Changjiangwan center is located in the northeast of the DDA and is planned to be developed as an international high-level and multi-functional beach sports resort, catering for sports, high-end business conferences, cultural entertainment and exercise programs. This project, with a planned area of 16 sq km and a general construction area of 5 million sq m, has been designed to create a platform for future investment.
Zhang Shikun, director of the DDA's management committee, said that since the inception of the DDA back in 1984, it has now attracted more than 3,000 foreign-funded projects from 48 countries and regions, including some 76 projects from the world's top 500 businesses, each with average investment of over $70 million. This year, the DDA plans to construct 83 key projects, including six projects worth over $10 million each and with a possible output value of more than 30 billion yuan.
