Bank robber charged

A teenager, surnamed Shang, was charged over the robbery of 140,000 yuan ($20,500) from a bank in Fendtai district, by Beijing Municipal People's Procuratorate, reported the Beijing Times yesterday.

It's alleged that on April 30, 17-year-old Shang broke into a bank, held a female customer hostage with a knife, threatened the teller with a fake gun and demanded 140,000 yuan. The teller activated the alarm system as he retrieved the money.
