Most mysterious: Wan Yingnu

A style guru and often-seen socialite on the Paris fashion scene, Wan (picture right) is believed to be the granddaughter of Wan Li, former chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress. She reportedly acquired 440,000 shares in Ultrapower Software in Beijing at a price of 1 yuan per share in 2007, and increased her shares this year to 880,000 with an initial public offering (IPO) price of 58 yuan. Wan achieved a 116-percent gain in just two years, with the total market value of her holdings jumping to more than 51 million yuan.
