Sulfide samples received
Chinese scientists got their first 7 kg of sulfide samples from a 26-m black smoker, a fissure under the sea spewing geothermally heated water.
The sample was gathered in the eastern Pacific Ocean about 2.7 km underwater during a scientific tour that began on July 18 this year, the State Oceanic Administration said yesterday.
