Migrants will be blocked

The Indonesian navy will prevent boat people who want to go to Australia from entering Indonesian territory, Indonesian Defense Minister Purnomo Yusgiantoro said yesterday. Indonesia has been a strategic staging point for illegal migrants from Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Myanmar and some Arabic countries, heading to Australia. Recently, boats carrying hundreds of illegal migrants from Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Myanmar have been stranded in Indonesia's waters.
