A day of a Beijing sweeper

Editor's note: Today is Sanitation Workers' Day. METRO spent a full workday with Pei Zhihuan, a 42-year-old woman who has been a street sweeper since 1991 in the fourth division of the Chaoyang environment and sanitation center in Beijing. Her department is responsible for keeping the 2.5-km street tidy in the northwest part of the 3rd Ring Road.
