Gaobi designated as prime export base over next five years

DABU, Guangdong: Located to the east of the Guangdong province, Dabu county has a long history of ceramic production, dating back to the late Southern Song Dynasty (1127-1279). Today, more than 30,000 people in the county are involved in the ceramic industry, producing some 3,000 different designs of ceramic product.
Ceramics made in Dabu have been sold to some 110 countries and regions, including the United States, Europe, Australia, several Southeast Asian countries and the Middle East. Understandably, exhibition stands featuring Dabu ceramics are one of the highlights of the prestigious Canton Fair every April and October.
Dabu owes much of its success in the sector to its rich ceramic earth and abundant mineral resources. These factors have helped establish the county as one of the key ceramic manufacturing centers in China.
