Yi absent, Guangdong win
Guangdong were without star forward Yi Jianlian on Tuesday but still started their bid for the National Games basketball title in convincing style with a 105-94 win over Hubei.
Guangdong had been expecting the New Jersey Nets to allow Yi to compete at the Games but the Nets, at the last minute, said they did not want to release Yi.
