The regulation drafted by the legal affairs office and the municipal transportation committee will standardize security measures applied during the National Day celebrations and Olympic Games.

Beijing has a one of the world's largest bus fleets with nearly 30,000 buses citywide. Each day, more than 12 million journeys are made on buses. During the peak season such as the National Day holiday, more than 14 million trips are made each day.
