Insurance center created

China Agricultural and Rural Insurance Research Center was launched yesterday in Chengdu, Sichuan province. With the strong backing of Groupama, one of the largest multiline insurers in France, the center, which is located in Chengdu-based Southwestern University of Finance and Economics, will conduct research in agricultural and rural insurance in Chengdu and other parts of China. Its mission is to provide a theoretical basis for the country's development of agricultural and rural insurance, said Liu Baiqiang, vice-mayor of Chengdu.
