Henan rowers pull up their oars

RIZHAO, Shandong province: Ten hours after Guo Linna, the first athlete to fail a doping test at China's 11th National Games was thrown out of the event, the whole Henan rowing team pulled out of the competition here yesterday.

"We got the order from the Henan delegation yesterday evening, it was quite surprising," Han Wei, the captain of Henan rowing team, told China Daily in a telephone interview on his way back to Henan.

"But it just shows our determination about anti-doping, even if we have to give up the chance to compete for medals in other events."
