Americans open-jawed over warriors from Xi'an

China Daily | Updated: 2009-10-20 10:10

Just like during his first encounter with them, Nestor Dub found the terracotta figures of ancient Chinese warriors and horses fascinating and unbelievable.

The soldiers and horses made people feel insignificant and realize that in a different time, in a different part of the world, "things this grand had existed", said Dub, standing before a bust of a terracotta soldier.

He was one of the more than 200,000 Americans who visited the 5-month-long terracotta exhibition in the Houston Museum of Natural Science, which ended on Sunday.
