In spite of the national sports authorities' categorical denial that gold medals for the already-concluded diving competitions of the 11th National Games were predetermined, few appear convinced.

Instead, judging from comment available online, public opinion is almost entirely one-sided, and people are suspicious. Even more so with some trainers' alleged revelation that they had to bribe referees to ensure their competitive athletes got the result they deserved.

Several national sports officials have responded, all assuredly, to the allegation and the subsequent public ridicule, labeling it as "irresponsible and groundless." Still, most in the audience tend to believe a "tacit rule" was at work.
