Various views of the world

Three artists from the United States - Trenton Doyle Hancock, Erick Swenson and Alison Elizabeth Taylor - are marking their debut exhibition, Young Americans, at the James Cohan Gallery Shanghai.

Hancock's works encompass a wide variety of art forms, including painting, collage, sculpture, printmaking and performing arts, and feature imaginary, absurdist characters.

Swenson draws inspiration for the mythical creatures in his sculptures from a childhood passion for animal models in the natural history museum.
