Director Li Liuyi of the Beijing People's Art Theater will present his first ballet production The Peony Pavilion. The famous love story written by Ming Dynasty playwright Tang Xianzu, has mostly been staged as Chinese operas. The ballet version focuses on the exploration of the inner world of the characters through body language.
