Movie star 'paints a smile'
Taiwan movie star Shu Qi, spokesperson for Swiss watchmaker Frederique Constant, attended its charity event "Paint a Smile" in Beijing recently. Shu visited the Beijing Children's Hospital where the little patients and staff of the Paint A Smile Foundation spent two months decorating the wards of the cardiology department with their own paintings.
Founded by Laura Cotton, Paint a Smile aims to reduce patient anxiety and make a hospital stay more cheerful and friendly. It trains and sends professional teams of "Smile Painters" around the world to decorate and transform bare white walls into landscapes of dreams and fantasy.
