No abuse in inmate's death

The sudden death of an inmate in a detention house in Changle city of east China's Fujian province early Monday morning had nothing to do with abuse of police power, police in the provincial capital of Fuzhou announced yesterday.

Lin Moudi, who has a record of high blood pressure, was detained for forced trading. Other inmates in the same room found Lin had suddenly stopped snoring late Sunday night. He was immediately sent to hospital but still failed emergency treatment, Fuzhou police said.
