Broncos beat Patriots with late field goal

China Daily | Updated: 2009-10-13 08:12

DENVER: Matt Prater's 41-yard overtime field goal gave Denver a 20-17 victory over the New England Patriots on Sunday and lifted the Broncos to an unbeaten 5-0 under rookie head coach Josh McDaniels.

The Broncos roared back from a 17-7 halftime deficit to level the score on Kyle Orton's 11-yard touchdown pass to Brandon Marshall in the fourth quarter before Prater kicked his second field goal of the game 4:51 into the extra session.

Denver are now off to their best start since 1998 - when they won the Super Bowl.
