CBD locals fear relocation plan

While the government seeks to double the size of its prosperous business district local residents who would be relocated under the plan yesterday voiced deep concerns.

The decision to expand the city's Central Business District eastward over the next six years means many residential buildings between Guomao on the East Third Ring Road and Sihui Bridge on the East Fourth Ring Road will be demolished to make way for commercial skyscrapers.

This would be a massive effort considering the population in the neighborhood.
