Five missiles tested

The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) yesterday fired five short-range missiles off its east coast, a news report said, even as the Republic of Korea (ROK) proposed working-level talks with its neighbor.

ROK's Yonhap news agency said the North test-fired the missiles yesterday afternoon from its eastern coastal launch pad. It said the North has issued a no-sail zone in an area off the east coast between October 10-20 - an apparent indication it was planning missile tests.
