GDP surpasses 8% in Q3
China's economic growth in the third quarter may have surpassed 8 percent, Liu Mingkang, chairman of the China Banking Regulatory Commission, said in a speech in Hong Kong. The economy expanded 7.9 percent in the second quarter from a year earlier. The banking regulator also said it was still too soon for the government to start winding down stimulus efforts. The economy "may face a bumpy road ahead."
