Making itself quite a name
One great thing about No Name Restaurant is that, unlike many other restaurants and bars in the Houhai area, it is located in a quiet hutong, just 50 m south of Yindingqiao bridge, a local landmark.
The original wooden furniture and the plants on the first floor give the impression of old Beijing, and a hint of Yunnan province. The first floor can be a bit dark during the day, but if you get to the second floor, it is flooded with natural light.
No Name Restaurant has been set up by the same people who are behind the bar bearing the same name next to the lake, which many consider the first bar at Houhai. The restaurant served Yunnan fare when it was set up five years ago, but has now also put on its menu a range of reasonably-priced popular Chinese dishes drawn from different cuisines.
