Changchun Special: Changchun hi-tech zone seeks to boost five pivotal industries

A meeting on the future development of the National Changchun Hi-tech Development Zone (CHTDZ) took place on Tuesday with the aim of providing an additional boost to both the zone and the local economy.
With a powerful belief in its ability to make a larger contribution to the nation as well as to Jilin and its capital, the zone has recently devised a far-reaching strategic plan, designed to establish the zone as an advanced global hi-tech industrial base as well as a powerful engine for economic development.
The National Changchun Hi-Tech Development Zone, founded in 1991, is one of the nation's leading hi-tech zones. Situated in Changchun, the capital of northeast China's Jilin province, the zone has unique access to the city's abundant intellectual resources, provided by numerous key universities and research institutes.
