Campbell backs County's Premier League dream

China Daily | Updated: 2009-08-27 08:03

LONDON: Former England international defender Sol Campbell believes he could play in the Premier League again with Notts County after signing a five-year deal with the League Two side on Tuesday, where he teams up again with ex-England boss Sven-Goran Eriksson.

Campbell, who has 73 caps for England and played in three World Cups, joined on a free transfer from Portsmouth.

The defender, who turns 35 next month, revealed he turned down offers from Premier League clubs to become part of the revolution at Meadow Lane where he joins Eriksson, Notts County's new director of football.
