Oil edges above $72 a barrel

LONDON: Oil edged above $72 a barrel yesterday on bullish economic data and firm equities, but prices remain more than $2 below the 10-month high hit in the previous session as a surprise jump in US crude stocks hit sentiment.
US crude for October was up 16 cents to $72.21 a barrel by 1050 GMT, after falling $2.32 on Tuesday.
Brent crude rose 25 cents to $72.07 a barrel after losing $2.44 the previous day.
