Hotel to refund deposit for cancelled wedding party

A court in Haikou, capital of Hainan province, recently ordered a local hotel to refund the deposit for a wedding banquet to a customer after the event had to be called off due to disagreement over rates in March.

A newlywed couple surnamed Xia had paid the hotel 5,000 yuan ($732) in deposit for the party, which had to be cancelled as the clients thought the prices of the dishes were too high.
